+ WHAT IS MANDARIN CHINESE?

Mandarin is the official language of China, all the other languages such as Cantonese are considered dialect. The writing system is unified and it is the simplified Chinese characters.

+ IS MANDARIN DIFFICULT?

Mandarin Chinese is much easier to learn than European languages in many ways.

Here are some features that make Mandarin easy:

• No subject/verb agreement • No plurals • No conjugations • No tenses • Simple numbering system which is applied to dates and time expressions • Simple conditional sentences • Simple preposition

+ IS IT POSSIBLE TO LEARN THE CHINESE CHARACTERS?

Yes, there is a possible in the impossible! Chinese characters are the same, there is a system to combine and construct different strokes into a character. Chinese characters have great histories behind it, and it can be interesting to learn. Once you learn the basics, you will find it much easier to differentiate the characters.

+ IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO HAVE CLASSES AT MY CHOICE OF LOCATION?

Yes, we currently serve Fairfield County, Westchester County, and Manhattan. There will be an additional fee to cover traveling expenses to mutually agreed locations.

+ HOW LONG ARE YOUR CLASSES?

Each lesson is 1 hour in length for both private lessons and group lessons. You can schedule for more than 1 private lesson a day.

+ HOW CAN I APPLY FOR A COURSE?

You can register for either group lesson or private lessons here.

+ WHICH IS BEST FOR ME, PRIVATE OR GROUP LESSONS?

If you work full time and don’t have a fixed schedule or you have a specific study direction in mind, we would recommend our private class for you. With the flexibility of private lessons, you can adjust the schedule to your convenience.*

If you have more time and would like a fixed class schedule and classmates to study with, then our small group class will be your best choice.**

+ IF I AM NOT SATISFIED AFTER I HAVE REGISTERED, WHAT CAN I DO?

If a student is unhappy with our program after the first class, we will refund the cost of the remaining classes.
