  • Mandarin is the official language of China, all the other languages such as Cantonese are considered dialect. The writing system is unified and it is the simplified Chinese characters.

  • Mandarin Chinese is much easier to learn than European languages in many ways.

    Here are some features that make Mandarin easy:

    • No subject/verb agreement • No plurals • No conjugations • No tenses • Simple numbering system which is applied to dates and time expressions • Simple conditional sentences • Simple preposition

  • Yes, there is a possible in the impossible! Chinese characters are the same, there is a system to combine and construct different strokes into a character. Chinese characters have great histories behind it, and it can be interesting to learn. Once you learn the basics, you will find it much easier to differentiate the characters.

  • Absolutely, 100%! At TalkOrange, we strive to provide our students the best learning experience and the tools you need to succeed. We will not give up on you, and you should never give up on yourself.

  • We are open Monday to Saturday from 9am-8pm.

  • We are based in New York, but we work with students anywhere in the US.

  • Yes, since we’re using Zoom as a platform for our class, you can be wherever you want to be as long as you have a good internet connection.

  • Each lesson is 1 hour in length for both private lessons and group lessons. You can schedule for more than 1 private lesson a day.

  • You can register for either group lesson or private lessons here.

  • If a student is unhappy with our program after the first class, we will refund the cost of the remaining classes.
